I Love My Job!
My name is Barry Moss, known for many years as Barry Michaels on the radio. I was raised in Charlotte, NC and had always told my family that I was going to work in music when I grew up and they told me I couldn't do both. I grew up playing guitar in rock bands until one day when I visited a radio station. To my shock and amazement, the DJs told me they actually get paid to do what they do. I got my radio license (you had to have one of those back then) and started working as a top 40 radio DJ in Charlotte when I was 18. I bought a mobile DJ system a few years later to try my hand at mobile DJ work. Once again to my shock and amazement they didn't throw eggs at me, they actually seemed to like me. I still, to this day, enjoy entertaining people.

1980 Bought a mobile sound system and started doing mobile DJ work on the side.

1989-1992 WDAR-Rock 105 FM (At Last Check Still WDAR) Classic Rock Station Florence, SC (Afternoon Drive DJ And Program Director)
1992-1995 WBZK-K99 FM (Now WBT) Classic Oldies Station Rock Hill, SC / Charlotte, NC (Morning Drive DJ And Program Director)

Barry 2001
After about 18 years of being moved all around in radio due to format and ownership changes, (Ie. all of the above stations are now something else) I decided to start my own mobile DJ company. So in 1995 I started "Barry's Mobile DJ Service" as a full time business. I sub-contracted out my services to some of those big entertainment companies for awhile. But by 1999, with lots of hard work, I had built up such a good reputation I was able go out completely on my own. My business has done nothing but go up since then. On January 1st of 2005 I changed the name of the company to "DJ Barry Productions".
